The main purpose of the PVCA is to promote volleyball throughout the state. The membership numbers over 450 coaches. Major projects undertaken include an annual clinic at Penn State, selection of high school all-district and all-state teams, the PA Volleyball Hall Of Fame, and annual regional senior all-star matches. The PVCA also advocates for volleyball with the PIAA.
- To unite volleyball coaches for the purpose of maintaining a representative and centralized association to consider, agree, and act in unison upon matters affecting its members and their teams.
- To promote the sport of volleyball in Pennsylvania and advance the quality of coaching and level of play throughout Pennsylvania.
- To encourage, foster, and conduct volleyball clinics, exhibitions, and matches for its members and their teams.
- To recognize excellence in volleyball by selecting all-district teams, all-state teams, and hosting all-star matches.
